Two days in

Well, my first two days in dairy have gone well. Even though I still have to wake up early (3 A.M), when I get home at around 1:30, I am able to stay awake and do stuff. I am actually conginzant. I may doze off for a little bit this afternoon, but not for long. And the job is a little easier, too. So far anyway. Hopefully that will last. All in all, the entire family is happy.

If you are at all interested in my take on Michael Vick, I left a brief message on my MySpace blog.

More later.

The Power of One

"Don't give up; don't ever give up." WIth that phrase, a movement started. Jimmy Valvano's family and friends rallied around his spirit and his drive to form the V foundation to fight cancer. Fourteen years later, the foundation is a fully funded non-profit that is able to deliver 100% of the money raised to cancer research. One person's heart was the motivating factor in millions being raised to cancer research. In fact, on ESPN radio earlier this week, over 850K was raised in fundraising auction.

Several years ago, a little girl who had cancer opened a lemonade stand to raise money for her medical bills. A million dollars later, people who were inspired by her heart and desire continue to raise money to help find a cure for the disease that killed her.

What can I do to make a difference? After all, I am only one person. What could one person possibly do? I mean, can anyone really make any change? Can one person's dream inspire millions even decades after his death? Can one person's devotion to the will of God bring about salvation for all who will accept it?

There is power in one. There is power in you. There is power in me. Will we use it?
