Being Included
Our church's summer kids' camp (known to some as VBS) just ended. Well, sort of ended. We have more stuff going on Sunday. What a week it was. The children who attended were given a goal of raising $998. They raised around $1800. They learned more about Jesus and loving God and others. It was great.
This year, I taught the Bible story portion with my friend, Ryan. We took turns acting as a character from Bible times. I also got to perform in the drama we did at the beginning and the ending of each night. I was the Commander of the Starship Galaxy Adventure. I had so much fun. I must admit that I was a little bit confused on the nights when I went straight from work to being the Commander to being Joseph or Boaz back to the commander. But I survived.
It still is amazing to me that three years ago I was asked to not participate in the VBS that was going on at our church at that time. That was definitely one of the lowest points of my life. Very little has ever hurt more than being told I was not welcome to serve. But this week was a just another reminder of how great God has been in my life. What a blessing to be at Princeton Community Church and to have such a great church family.
What a blessing it is to be a part of something good.
God bless you--PM
